Just Try

Some believe that life is a predestined fate that we live a day at a time,
Some say that it is nothing but luck that some have a better life than most,
A coin toss between living in luxury and crawling in grime,
But why should we simply close our eyes and accept each loss?

Isn't life worth fighting for?
Are we not capable of molding our own fate?
Yes, there are things that are beyond our grasp,
But there are steps that could be taken to ensure things go our way before everything is too late,
For life is more than just a series of luck and unavoidable mishaps.

Wouldn't it be better to able to say that I have lived a life that is full;
Than regret the things we haven't done as we lay dying in our very deathbed?
Life can be simple if we only bothered to try at all,
Try to change what we can to light up the way ahead.

So enough with procrastinating as do something worthwhile,
Struggle as hard but enjoy every little thing when we can,
In the end, when you realize you did it, smile;
Life is weighed by how we lived it not with what we have done.
